My Summer Lair Chapter #12: How When Was The Last Time You Saw A Play?
I’d call this episode…Child’s Pay!
Plays are strange mediums; I haven’t attended enough to get a handle on the language, the rhythm, the customs. The cinema has sticky floors and those Guess Who Said IT? pixelated pre-show puzzles but more than those common experiences I get the clichés.
I recognize cheezy moments…and sometimes I celebrate them. I can grasp when something is not working or when a filmmaker betrayed his vision. I know how to talk about movies. And books. And comics. Plays…not so much.
So I was excited to invite actress and play producer Olivia Marshman into My Summer Lair to discuss acting and theater…er or re? She’s starring in Eigengrau a British play ummm…playing the last week of August in Stratford. Classy. See…Stratford…plays, puns: it’s all happening.
This woman is infectiously passionate about art and creativity and acting and…plays. What better way to learn than to ask.
