I’mA Single This Out: How does this all work? Ryan Reynolds’ marketing company is Maximum Effort.
I assume all this Deadpool “content” comes directly from Ryan and his creative team. He’s done for previous movies with Free Guy and The Adam Project.
Is this part of the movie’s marketing budget? Negotiated up front…like when he’s cast?
Leaked Sony emails revealed Kevin Hart asked for additional funds from Sony to write a Tweet promoting his movie. In addition to the $3 million paycheck he got for making the movie.
Clint Culpepper wrote: “We paid for his ability to open a film which included his social media savvy. I feel like this is something that should be negotiated going into the film as opposed to after the fact.”
Yeah, so did something change from the Kevin Hart email exchange to what Ryan Reynolds’ marketing is doing?
Which is why I continue to circle back to Deadpool & Wolverine.
The humour works, no surprise there. I just question…how authentic is this?
I don’t like con jobs…nobody does. And #MeToo may or may not impact the sexual adventures of the rich and famous. What it primarily achieved is reminded the general public there is a notable gap between The Public Face and a private face.
Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean I know you. I don’t.
Nor do I care if you like dogs or if you’re a good Dad or how sound your Hollywood marriage is. None of those vanity metrics determine the quality of The Work.
I just…don’t want to fall for it: it’s heartbreaking to know the stripper isn’t your friend. Or even in love with you.
Stories create emotional connections but so do commercials. Proximity is sexy.
It’s fun and it’s goofy, we need more of that. Humour is so difficult to master online…just because a joke went viral don’t make it funny. This is good and wonderfully silly.
Just…be upfront about this transaction. I’m super uncomfortable falling in love with a stripper.
