Steven Moffat!

The First Yo of The Day.

I’m a midnight toker
I get my lovin’ on the run…”

The Purple One…
As for today’s cover image: To quote Wikipedia: “Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016) was an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Widely regarded as one of the greatest musicians of his generation, he was known for his flamboyant, androgynous persona and wide vocal range.” #GOAT
CNN+ Is No Longer With Us
This isn’t a News story: we know CNN sucks. Don Lemon is incompetent; Anderson Cooper is dull-witted. This isn’t even a streaming saga really.
Shutting CNN+ is about a corporate entity figuring out its place in the world. This is a Jerry Maguire memo/mission statement.
“The Things We Think and Do Not Say” got Jerry fired.
Bob Sugar/WB Discovery: “You should see yourself…you said “fewer streamers” and put it all down on paper.”
Jerry Maguire/CNN+: “You’ll lose.”
Bob Sugar/Bob Sugar/WB Discovery: “You wanted it smaller!”
We’re No Longer Along For The Ride This Weekend
A Netflix Programming Note: Along For The Ride the teen movie adaptation of Sarah Dessen’s book was supposed to drop this week. However Netflix has bumped it to May 6 now.
Not totally sold on it; the trailer makes it look like a Girl With Cancer Movie. It’s not right?? #SetTheVCR
Summer plans may change, but this summer love is forever. 💙☀️ ALONG FOR THE RIDE will now debut on Netflix on May 6! pic.twitter.com/4daTedKYfn

#CouchWorthy: When Was The Last Time You Watched Benny Hill?
The legendary Benny Hill passed away today (well April 20) in 1992.
That dude was a comedy #GOAT.
Most of the show still holds up because the comedy is so physical. You can draw a straight pop culture line from Charlie Chaplin to Benny Hill to Mr. Bean.
Exposing All of Victoria’s Secrets!
I never watched Hulu’s The Curse Of Von Dutch: A Brand To Die For.
Or Netflix’s White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch.
And now Hulu wants to expose all of Victoria’s Secrets. Gasp!!
Hulu’s Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons premieres on July 14th. Though before that the three episode docuseries will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 18. This fashionable trend sucks.
Hulu's Victoria's Secret: Angels and Demons premieres on July 14th.
A searing and provocative exposé of the Victoria’s Secret brand, as the underworld of fashion, the billionaire class, and Jeffrey Epstein are revealed to be intertwined with the fall of this legendary brand. pic.twitter.com/1bP7FK8CTr— Film Updates (@FilmUpdates) April 21, 2022

What A Tangled Web We Weave…
Sony’s Madame Web is now slated to hit theaters on July 7, 2023.
I promise you I will die having never watched Madame Web.
Dakota Johnson AND Sydney Sweeney in a Sony Spider-Man movie?! Come on, man.
You don’t need to be in Mensa to know this is a wretched premise. Like Madame Web Web can’t see that coming?!
Across the Spider-Verse follow ups have also been delayed in today’s theatrical release calendar. Those are the only Sony Spider-Man movies I’ll do; aside from the Peter Parker classics.
A shift in the multi-verse.

#SetTheVCR: The Matrix Resurrections
Does anybody care?
The Matrix Resurrections will be on HBO Max on May 10; on Crave May 13.
I never saw it but I tolerated Reloaded & Revolutions which were so bad I begged for a blue pill to make em all go away.
Lousy & Frowzy.
“You take the blue pill… the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.” Yes please!
#SetTheVCR…PSA: The Time Traveler’s Wife
This is a technically Who Asked For This?!
The Time Traveler’s Wife was a 2003 novel, then a 2009 movie and now it’s 2022 limited series on HBO Max (6 episodes) but at least this is adapted by Steven Moffat one of television’s best writers since Rod Serling.
Thankfully Steven Moffat (#GOAT) is writing the entire adaptation and…bonus Sue Vertue is producing…she’s also great; excellent taste.
It’s got only 1 director for all 6 episodes: which is great. Multiple directors is a red flag. It’s David Nutter from X-Files: sweet.
1 writer and 1 director helps a lot.
So yes Who Asked For This?! is valid but I’ll watch just for Moffat. The Time Traveler’s Wife novel is decent too.
May 15 on HBO Max. Still: I dunno. May…be? So I’m reluctantly in; let’s get on with all this.
