Morning Tea: Will Smith Is Wheels Up Which is Barry Good Magic

Posted on April 22, 2022September 18, 2023 By Sammy Younan No Comments on Morning Tea: Will Smith Is Wheels Up Which is Barry Good Magic

Magic!

Barry!

Will Smith! Brew a strong tea: yo!

The First Yo of The Day.

It’s Friday…the weekend is here! Don’t hesitate…get out there and make bold fearless decisions.

It’s easy to have fun if you’re fun. You know?

Puttering Around The Woods…

As for today’s cover image: A pair of 18-hole putting courses designed by Tiger Woods will open next week in Florida. If you’re searching for an excellent date suggestion; I mean it is the weekend right? Putt-Putt! #GOAT

The Will Smith Slap Was A Bright Idea

Oh! Good News: If Will Smith’s Oscar slap cost us Bad Boys 4 and now Bright 2 according to recent reports then the slap was 100% worth it!

The backlash to the slap is silly; most sensible people don’t care. This is like when an older actor dates a younger girl. Like…who cares? Or gets married for a third or even fourth time. Again…who cares? Backlash is not pop culture.

Will Smith can still bust open a movie (Tom Cruise has lots of hate and he does just fine!) but eliminating box office and working with a streamer would be wiser. No box office neutralizes the karma gloaters and the loud worthless haters.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Desperate to leave his violent past behind in favor of his newfound passion, Barry (Bill Hader) is attempting to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But getting out is messy.

How messy? Here are Season 1 & 2 Bloopers. Season 3 drops on Sunday at 10 p.m. #SetTheVCR

#HiddenGem: BamBam & Mayzin “Wheels Up”

Wheels Up by BamBam & Mayzin is the first single via Golden State Entertainment. Yup: Golden State Warriors (NBA team) have launched Golden State Entertainment (a sports and entertainment company).

THIS IS HUGE. Pay Attention to this; this has only just begun.

Pop Culture and wealth aside this is a decent song.

NBA Leads Are Misleading…

I’ve been saying this for years. And once again all during this NBA Playoffs too: we’re hanging out cookies because a team overcame a 20 or 25 point lead??

2 defensive stops and three 3s and you’re right back in it. Leads are no longer disheartening; the psychological intimidation of a large lead has been neutralized.

You think being down 20 points matters when a number of dudes are practically shooting from the logo now? Come on, man. #BallorFall

#NewBookAlert: New Non-Fiction Book From David Sax…

Oh! A #NewBookAlert for November: The Future Is Analog.

Boy I sure hope so: “We need to choose not convenience but community.” Yes!!

You got time so I suggest checking out David Sax’ s previous and most excellent book: The Revenge of Analog: Real Things and Why They Matter.

A book never seems real until it arrives in its fleshy galley body. Behold "The Future Is Analog". Coming November from @public_affairs, wherever real books are sold. (Table setting courtesy of passover) https://t.co/HBwIuaQLdf pic.twitter.com/5YrsLa0eFm

#SetTheVCR: Meet The New Simpsons; Just Like The Old Simpsons

The fourth Simpsons short created for Disney+: In When Billie Met Lisa, Lisa Simpson is discovered by chart-topping artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS while searching for a quiet place to practice her saxophone.

It Is What It Is. See for yourself it out’s out today.

#SetTheVCR: Magic’s Real Life Winning Time

I’m certain people watching HBO Max’s Winning Time focused on Earvin “Magic” Johnson’s rookie season and the birth of Showtime Lakers are wondering how accurate is it? Well: skip Winning Time. Always pick the documentary over the biopic. You can have more trust in a documentary; you can’t trust a biopic at all.

Magic has truly lived up to his nickname: from the highest rated NCAA game (vs Bird), to elevating a floundering NBA giving the rocky organization sustaining status; to playing in LA with some of the greatest Lakers teams; to his abrupt retirement following his devastating HIV announcement, to become a Dodgers owner and a business man in the Black community.

There’s a lot to get into…is 4 parts enough? This should make for a magical evening (all 4 episodes are out today) and remember kids: “You can live through anything if Magic made it.”

"How about Magic?"#TheyCallMeMagic, premieres TODAY, April 22, exclusively on Apple TV+. pic.twitter.com/Hzpn06x4PE
