Trial By Trailer: Oh this time the warm spot is…blood! (Could also be #FearPee!)
The latest Blumhouse horror movie is Night Swim: A family moves into a new home, unaware that a dark secret from the house’s past will unleash a malevolent force in the backyard pool. I saw this at the movies…it’s a bit corny.
I can now confirm why this was released in January. Night Swim is an acceptable streaming movie. Though it’s one of those horror movies that starts strong but fails to stick the landing.
It’s got odd plot holes…the warm spot is cheap #FearPee. Let’s just say the talent pool on this horror movie is in the shallow end.
Also the horror-physics of the reveal are wonky. It shoulda stayed outta the “deep” end…However, Stephen King tweeted out: “Don’t believe the critics. This is a terrific suspense movie.”
So…there’s that.
Sammy Verdict: I won’t pay box office money for Night Swim but oh the second it’s on Netflix…I am 100% IN! This clumsy Blumhouse movie should be swimming with the fishes on Tubi.
