Turn Your TV Up To 11: For some odd reason May is Concert Special Month? What an odd bit of musical coincidence.
Just announced: HBO is offering Lady Gaga’s Gaga Chromatica Ball on May 25th at 8:00 p.m.
Gaga’s performance was filmed at Los Angeles’s Dodger Stadium during her 2022 Chromatica Ball Tour. (Apparently she directed it?!)
While Disney+ has Radio Ga Ga with Queen Rock Montreal on May 15th.
The original Queen concerts, which took place on November 24 and 25, 1981, were arranged specifically to be filmed for a full-length concert film to document their live show.
Before Queen though you can chill with The Beatles on Disney+ on May 8th.
This is a restored version of director Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s original 1970 film about The Beatles…towards the end.
Disney+ is so kicking it old school in May.
Happily, you can currently watch Stop Making Sense the restored Talking Heads special now streaming on HBO Max and Crave.
You’d hafta be a Psycho Killer to overlook this Once In A Lifetime suggestion.
This live performance, shot over three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December 1983, features some of Talking Heads’ most memorable songs. The film was directed by Jonathan Demme.
So happy it’s getting its Flowers. Make some tea and enjoy this Wild Wild Life.
So! Lady Gaga, Queen, The Beatles and Talking Heads…which ones are you gonna watch? And dance of course. You don’t hafta watch TV passively, right?
Sammy Verdict: I’m totally in for Talking Heads. I just saw the Eno documentary at Hot Docs so I wanna go back to all of that music.
