Spacing Out on Spacey: Spacey Unmasked “a Kevin Spacey investigation” looks way too TMZ.
It makes it’s American TV premiere on Monday, May 13 on ID but you can stream it on HBO Max.
I question the quality of the journalism and I loathe being a clickbait pawn.
Remember the ongoing Leaving Neverland debacle, a 2019 made-for-television documentary? Even Boy George expressed accurate skepticism about the documentary: “It’s just taken almost for granted that this is what happened and therefore we all should accept it.” Yeah, pretty much.
I also haven’t watched any Lifetime docs for the same reason: I don’t trust the journalism. Pimping gossip has no benefits.
So, this is easy for me: I’m 100% Out.
Also? I don’t care about Spacey’s or anybody else’s extracurricular activities.
Guilt or innocence doesn’t impact his talent. I don’t believe in deal breakers. He’s a horrible human being…and? So are all the people perpetually active in cancel culture. Everybody sucks.
To be annoyed Spacey is still working doesn’t make any sense when Rob Lowe is doing just fine. That’s just trash morality. (Not that pop culture requires any moral calisthenics.)
Kevin Spacey is hard to replace: his best skill is duplicity Usual Suspects, Se7en, etc.
For now, I await his Hollywood comeback and eagerly skip this rubbish.
Sammy Verdict: Jerry I’d rather investigate a new feature film starring Kevin Spacey then sit through this investigative report.
