My Summer Lair Chapter #20: If You Could Have Any Do-Gooder, Comic Book, Pop Culture Icon Protect Your Neighbourhood Who Would You Pick?
Lost my street cred during this Summer Lair visit (well what little I had left).
Chatting with Andrew Lamb about these amazing Neighbourhood Watch signs to which he adds Robocop, Iron Man, Fantastic Four all kinds of sublime childhood do-gooders.
Only as we talk we both struggled to recall the super powers of the Wonder Twins…and what was the name of that monkey?! I also messed up Thundercats and He-Man…nostalgia is hard work…
Andrew’s work means we get to cover Wonder Twins, Thundercats, He-Man, Friendly Giant and this creepy as hell The Adventures of Mark Twain a 1985 claymation movie. I’d never seen this and it’s messed up. Had more night terrors than Milhouse on a sleepover.
And his upcoming MakerLabs redisdency in Febuary attempts the mass production of cardboard puppets. Yo…and there is there a fresh time travel moment in this visit…wait for it.
I so enjoyed this episode: wholesome nerdy fun.
