Trial By Trailer: All (yes all) movie remakes are incredibly…dystopian.
What the crap is this?
Why does The Running Man exist?
Remember how wet garbage Colin Farrell’s Total Recall remake was?
And I’m supposed to overlook that mess and what hope this low-rent Purge is what…decent? It’s clearly not good.
Arnold makes classics.
Yet the rude audacity of being asked to slum it with Glen Powell following Arnold is offensive.
(It’s the same conjob hustle as Matthew McConaughey’s so-called “McConaissance.” He shifted from making bad movies with a standard template to making bad movies that weren’t so formulaic. Apparently, this accomplishment warranted a cinematic term.)
This is strictly Squid Game for White People.
No Reboots.
No Remakes.
No Reimaginings.
That’s a permanent policy.
There’s no what abouts…
There’s no audiences have changed…
No Reboots.
No Remakes.
No Reimaginings.
No Exceptions.
Sammy Verdict: Hard Pass. I’m Running away from this…I want less remakes in my pop culture diet.
