Came across this hauntingly beautiful tune as the Music Supervisor for Someone Not There (a romantic web series).
This version of Moondust is all ache, a song literally stripped raw, cold and as efficient as outer space and as quietly deep as the ocean. Or like a heart convinced this is what love is really like.
And yet it’s wonderfully chilling, I’d lean back and smoke cigars to this tune. When you can straddle ache and chilling you know you’ve written a powerful song. So much of this modern life exists between those stages.
