Back in October Netflix quietly released ReMastered a music documentary series focusing on seminal musical moments: basically it was their 30 for 30 but instead of sports it was music.
You may have seen Who Killed Jam Master Jay? or Tricky Dick and the Man in Black the Johnny Cash doc floating around. Those are all ReMastered (Netflix does a terrible job branding the series but also ReMastered is a confusing term…are you updating or restoring an old documentary or something?).
Anyways this Friday (February 8) ReMastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke drops on Netflix. (April’s ReMastered doc is yet another Robert Johnson doc…I dunno why we keep rehashing this…the stuff that’s out there is good. What else is there to say? Anyways here’s the list/announcement from Netflix on the series.)
