The Boss wants you to enjoy this week’s #SetTheVCR which is filled with Wonder and zombies and an invitation to party like it’s 1899? Eh, sure just listen to The Boss.

Lil Rel Howery: I Said It. Y’all Thinking It (Anytime / HBO Max)
For his second HBO stand-up special, Lil Rel Howery returns home to Chicago to share candid takes on fame, fatherhood and therapy.

SAMMY SUGGESTION: BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: THE TONIGHT SHOW TAKEOVER (11:35 P.M. / WEEKNIGHTS)
While this marks Springsteen’s third appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, it’s his first takeover and first musical performance.
~~~
To promote his new album Only the Strong Survive Bruce Springsteen is doing a Tonight Show residency. From November 14-16 The Boss will debut four songs from the new album. His final performance will air during The Tonight Show’s Thanksgiving episode on Thursday, November 24. American Thanksgiving and Bruce is such a dope pairing…pour the gravy on the turkey and turn up the TV.
Tuesday, November 15
Inside The NBA Doubleheader (7:30 p.m. / TNT)
Inside The NBA Doubleheader: Memphis Grizzlies vs. New Orleans Pelicans (7:30pm) then New York Knicks vs. Utah Jazz (10:30pm).
SAMMY SUGGESTION: R.I.P.D. 2: RISE OF THE DAMNED (ANYTIME / NETFLIX)
Set in the American West of 1876, R.I.P.D.2: Rise of the Dammed is a spiritual (pardon the pun) sequel to 2013’s R.I.P.D. Sheriff Roy Pulsipher isn’t too thrilled about finding himself dead after a shoot out with a notorious outlaw gang, but he does get a second chance to return to earth after being recruited by the R.I.P.D. (Rest In Peace Department.).
~~~
I mean how bad can it be…right? Right. Damned if you; damned if you don’t??

Limitless With Chris Hemsworth: Season 1 (Anytime / Disney+)
A different way we can live better for longer: regenerating damage, maximizing strength, building resilience, shocking the body, supercharging memory and confronting mortality.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: THE WONDER (ANYTIME / NETFLIX)
Haunted by her past, a nurse travels from England to a remote Irish village in 1862 to investigate a young girl’s supposedly miraculous fast.
~~~
Wonder is adapted from Emma Donoghue’s novel. She also wrote Room, remember that? Anyways Florence Pugh plays Lib Wright: “a veteran of Florence Nightingale’s Crimean campaign, who arrives in the Irish Midlands hired for an unusual task: to observe an 11-year-old girl named Anna O’Donnell, who has reportedly not eaten a morsel for four months.” Something hinky is going on, even if they didn’t use the word hinky in 19th-century Ireland. Because wonder while it does apply to faith it can also apply to science.
Thursday, November 17
The Sex Lives of College Girls: Season 2 (Anytime / HBO Max & Crave)
Four 18-year-old freshman roommates at Essex College in Vermont. A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these sexually active college girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: 1899: SEASON 1 (ANYTIME / NETFLIX)
Multinational immigrants traveling from the old continent to the new encounter a nightmarish riddle aboard a second ship adrift on the open sea.
~~~
I could tell you 1899 is shot using Volume the same all encompassing “green screen” technology used to create The Mandalorian. Or I could share that Netflix has classified this show as a sci-fi mystery (as well as using the tags mind-bending and ominous). But really? This is the new series from the creators of Dark. That’s the hook. If you saw Dark; you’re no doubt in. If you haven’t seen Dark…well stop reading this; don’t stay in the Dark…enlighten yourself. I’ve been slowly waiting for this TV show to light up my TV screen and finally; today we can party like it’s 1899.
Friday, November 18
Mickey: The Story of a Mouse (Anytime / Disney+)
Mickey’s Birthday is today so here’s a look back at the Mouse’s life.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: THE PEOPLE WE HATE AT THE WEDDING (ANYTIME / PRIME VIDEO)
Family tensions ramp up among siblings in the week leading up to their half-sister’s wedding.
~~~
This is a classic streamer movie: you know and/or like everybody in this. It’s funny and goofy, there is family drama and there’s a wedding involved. Is it any good? Well, it’s a streamer movie. It’ll give you something to talk about with your co-workers on Monday but not enough to move the needle on social media. Kinda like discussing The People We Hate At The Wedding.
Saturday, November 19
Nope (Anytime / Peacock)
The residents of a lonely gulch in inland California bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: THE 2022 ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY (8:00 P.M. / HBO & CRAVE)
The live event took place on November 5 in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater.
~~~
The 2022 induction ceremony honours this year’s inductees: Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Duran Duran (inducted by Robert Downey, Jr.), Eminem, Eurythmics (inducted by The Edge), Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie (inducted by Lenny Kravitz with performance by Dave Grohl), Carly Simon, Judas Priest, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Harry Belafonte, Elizabeth Cotton, Allen Grubman, Jimmy Iovine (inducted by Bruce Springsteen), and Sylvia Robinson. Whew. What an amazing group.
Sunday, November 20
Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium (11:00 p.m. / Disney+)
The historic three-hour livestream will showcase Elton John as audiences have never seen him before, paying tribute to the icon.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL EPISODE (9 P.M. / AMC)
The fight for a future continues to be exasperated by the ominous population of walkers. Not all will survive, but for some, the walking dead lives on.
~~~
I stopped shuffling along like a zombie with the primary series back in Season 2? 3? Something like that. Tonight, the shuffling comes to an end. I dunno how you wrap up a zombie apocalypse. (Technically they don’t…during Comic-Con this past Summer they announced a number of 2023 Walking Dead spin-offs. Nothing stays dead.) Are you curious to see how they wrap this all up? After 11 seasons how do you sum up The Walking Dead?
