My Summer Lair Chapter #299: What Is J. Peterman Talking About, Now?
Last year, I covered Fan Expo for Toronto 640 (Talk Radio AM 640). They’ve asked me to return and translate nerd to English.
There’s two #PantsWorthy panels that demand attention and attendance:
Friday August 23, 2024: 11:45 am in Theater #2 [Room 206]
Echoes From Hill House: A Haunting Panel With Mike Flanagan & Kate Siegel
Mike Flanagan and Kate Siegel, a horror power couple, will chat about all-things horror.
If that’s too scary for ya, how about some classic ’90s comedy? The Seinfeld Secondary characters gather…for the first time:
Sunday August 25, 2024: 12:45 pm in Theater #2 [Room 206]
Masters Of Their Domain: The Seinfeld Guests Who Stole The Show
John O’Hurley: J. Peterman Elaine’s boss
Patrick Warburton: David Puddy Elaine’s boyfriend (“Yeah, That’s Right.”)
Larry Thomas: The Soup Nazi
Phil Morris: Kramer’s wild lawyer Jackie Chiles.
These zany characters are reuniting to share their favorite moments and unforgettable laughs.
For Fan Expo 2024 here’s my conversation John O’Hurley who played J. Peterman, Elaine’s boss with these ponderous yet endearing Hemingway-esque monologues. If you stay to the end of my conversation with John; he delivers one from the show as J. Peterman. What a treat to do this podcast. I’m so blessed.
Pull up John O’Hurley’s IMDB and you’ll see he’s done so much work; work that you know and enjoy: he voiced King Neptune on SpongeBob SquarePants: lots of animation voice work including Powerpuff Girls.
He hosted Family Feud for almost 5 years. As an actor you’ve seen him on The Mentalist, X-Files, Murder She Wrote, Melrose Place, Mad About You and Frasier: the first episode of Season 2. John played Thomas Jay Fallow who’d written a spicy book Slow Tango In South Seattle about umm, you know Frasier’s first time. Excellent Frasier episode.
You can watch Seinfeld on Netflix.
To prepare for this interview with John I sat down and watched only his J. Peterman episodes. And I gotta admit that surprised me; it’s a special way to re-watch the classic comedy.
Sit down and watch all 20 J. Peterman episodes. It speaks to why Seinfeld is so good, present tense.
How fun was Seinfeld? Share your sassy sweet Seinfeld sentiments below…there’s comments:
Who is your favourite Seinfeld secondary character? You can pick two if one is difficult.
