My Summer Lair Chapter #18: What Do You Do?
My favourite quote from Gary Taxali’s visit to My Summer Lair: “Trust the hand and stop giving the mind so much credit.” Bam!
That’s a powerful artist credo; it should be on a t-shirt. Gary knows what he’s talking about…as an Artist and Illustrator and other such useless labels he’s worked on coins for the Canadian Mint, pocket squares for Harry Rosen, serves on the Stamp Advisory Committee for the Canada Post plus toys and exhibitions of his engaging work.
And none of those gigs are Side Hustles they are just…storytelling across various mediums.
It’s amazing when you meet you somebody and ask them “What do you do?” and they give you a rich and complicated answer.
That’s a sign of an active mind…a curious mind…I want to know more: like a magic trick how do you do it?
And that’s exactly what Gary tells me.
