My Summer Lair Chapter #90: Who Would Win…Sherlock Holmes vs Harry Houdini?
I met Conor McCreery at Fan Expo (think it was Fan Expo…maybe TCAF?) via the benevolent Geek Hard boys (Andrew and James!).
Conor is well known for writing (and co-creating) Kill Shakespeare with Anthony Del Col and of course Assassin’s Creed. Supa dupa fun comics however I highly recommended Sherlock Holmes vs. Harry Houdini! (Also by Conor and Anthony Del Col!)
At the time I met Conor I instantly bought the Holmes vs. Houdini trade. It’s good magical mystery fun with 2 massive egos battling for supremacy…it’s a battle of wits and intelligence all while solving murder and mystery.
I brought it up in this interview because I hope…against all hopes we get a sequel or even an ongoing series outta this. It’s no secret you put out what you want into the universe right?
My selfish agenda aside Conor is having a fantastic run with Kill Shakespeare: a play, a board game and NBC is in the early stages of adapting the comic for television. What…yo that’s so great.
I enjoyed the brief conversation I had with him at Oshawa Public Library’s Fan Con. Be interesting to follow up with him for a longer talk.
Oh and for more details on the Arthur Conan Doyle Collection I mentioned in my introduction the phrase is hyperlinked. Go…but don’t tell anyone…don’t put out that secret into the universe, right?
