Trial By Trailer: Well the Civil War trailer is better than the entire Leave the World Behind crap movie.
But you gotta do more than just sell me it’s A24 or whatever. That’s not a marketing hook. Worse director Alex Garland has been awful lately…Devs, Annihilation…another junk one I mercifully blocked out.
Basically this is The Purge without the creepy masks or the remarkable siren or…the deft sci-fi commentary?! meets White House Down.
Just guns and revenge? May God Bless America.

It’s so weird when people point out America is more polarized now than when the Civil War happened. Well, yeah: duh.
It’s such a nonsensical statement; America had a literal civil war…one of the few countries to ever have one. Those wounds don’t heal because of time! You’d still be polarized. What have you done to heal that rift? Or…what have you done to exacerbate that rift? And there’s your answer…of course America is more polarized now…people are actively polarizing it.
Sammy Verdict: America will fall…all empire crumble. I’ll watch this the second it drops on a streamer.
