My Summer Lair Chapter #286: Which 3 Dinosaurs Would You Invite To Your Fancy Dinner Party?
For this episode I’m on location at…Jurassic Quest.
The word on the street is accurate: dinosaurs are coming to Mississauga, about 30 kilometers from downtown Toronto where the Raptors play.
In addition to life-like dinosaurs, Jurassic Quest’s classic experiences include some of the largest rideable dinosaurs in North America, live dinosaur shows, interactive science and art activities including a fossil dig and real fossils like T-Rex teeth, a triceratops horn and life-size dino skull, bounce houses and inflatable attractions, photo opportunities, and lots more dynamic dino goodness.

I’m joined on this dinosaur safari with Henry Vanderspek, a supa dupa photographer. (If you thought dinosaurs were extinct; Henry shoots on film. Remember kids: in pop culture everything is always dying but nothing ever dies.)
At Jurassic Quest I talk to Dinosaur Trainer Lindsay who schools me on dinosaurs. It’s been a while since I handed in my Grade 3 assignment on dinos. Like Jurassic Quest she is super playful and creative: rather than ask her directly what her favourite dinosaur is…I take a different approach.
I ask her If you could invite three dinosaurs to a fancy dinner party who would you invite and why? Her answer is fascinating. Listen to what she says and then re-think your answer.
Jurassic Quest is at the International Centre in Mississauga from December 8, 2023 to December 10, 2023. (Though depending on when you read this or listen to this…it travels all over the place. Currently, it’s in America but it’s destined to return to Toronto…soon.)

When you start a podcast you hope to talk to fascinating and strange people. You don’t expect to record a conversation with a Dinosaur Trainer. That was an unexpected first.
