Hot Docs is almost done. Boo!
What have you seen?
What doc is like totally amazing?
What have you learned?
What made you angry?
And lastly…what’s next?
3 Pantsworthy docs worth checking out:
10:00 AM Isabel Bader Theatre
De Palma gave us “Say hello to my little friend.” The excellent Batter Up Untoucables scene. And I can’t talk about Carrie without night terrors. A vital contributor to American New Wave (those glory days are over, huh?) this doc recognizes De Palma’s evocative contributions to cinema…and our pop culture.
10:00 AM TIFF Bell Lightbox 1
Another Girth Radio Hidden Gem! A documentary on a rebel vs Chinese authorities to protest the abuse of girls and women. Timely and hard to watch yet a story truly worth telling.
9:30 PM Scotiabank Theatre 13
Alissa Girth Radio’s social media manager recommends checking this doc featuring an: “Eastside Los Angeles bicycle brigade.” Oh man…docs like this are probably the only safest way for us to voyage into East LA.
