Well, time to re-evaluate my iTunes library. I feel pathetic. But thank you NXNE for making me realize this.
Saturday, June 20th NXNE @ Handlebar was full of great sound.
The headliner Ghost Twin makes one feel as though they are in a scary electronic world of perfection. That made no sense. But neither does this duo, as they have a unique combination of synth lines, instruments and vocals to create their pleasantly unusual and haunting sound.
I don’t know how they do it.
Aside from the headliner; the entire lineup provided amazing vibes and tunes.
It takes a lot in this day and age for alternative music to stand apart from all the other alternative music. Every sound, person, thing and object nowadays is alternative.
But the opening alternative band, Jaunt, managed to hypnotize the entire crowd into silence and take me from my stressed out post-work anxious state to a completely relaxed one.
Another artist/CBC Q host/hip-hop God that quickly managed to convert me into a rap fan was one of the closers on Sunday June 21st. Shad.

He played the jam packed show at Yonge and Dundas Square along side another incredibly talented artist, Eternia. Awesome way to end off the weekend.
All of these artists made me realize how many talented musicians there are out there and made me question as to why I hadn’t heard of them previously. No, that couldn’t have sounded anymore cliche – but seriously – damn.
