As their website reveals: “Canada’s only record label dedicated to releasing stand up and sketch comedy albums.” Which is Crazy Talk considering the fantastically crowded collection of Canadian comics. Hence the Wu…or if you prefer Barry’s Canadian analogy Broken Social Scene. Heh: so Canadian.
Stand up comedian and founder of Comedy Records Barry Taylor visits My Summer Lair to celebrate Comedy Record’s 5 years! This month–July 2015–marks the outstanding achievement: a worthy pause to dissect the label’s humble beginnings…taste what the Chef is currently cooking and glimpse some of the future through a crystal ball.

I met him at the Edge, before Comedy Records, before he started doing stand up. He was a radio dj and I…was Lunch Boy this dude who frequented the djs at the street level studio requesting songs and facilitating Fun Facts for on air copy. I earned my keep! Beautiful experiences that directly shape what I’m currently doing at Girth.
