Excuse me Usher but I got confessions.
My Confession Part I: I’ve haven’t seen Aquaman.
I probably won’t pay to see Shazam! since he’s a character who won’t generate much ROI for my box office inve$tment.
As for Joker?
First…DC’s movie marketing department is fired: why wouldn’t they drop the trailer on April Fools Day!! Jokes, yo?!
Second…show me what else ya got.
Because…basically Joker movie is 2 hours of Steve Miller lyrics…
“I’m a joker, I’m a smoker
I’m a midnight toker
I sure don’t want to hurt no one
People talk about me, baby
Say I’m doing you wrong, doing you wrong”
Eh…maybe. This is a Netflix special.
Granted it’s a stand alone movie…and depending on what you read online (and choose to believe from what you read online…) we’re still saddled with Jared Leto’s My So Called Joker movie as well. That still true?
Remember as a kid you’d go to a corner store and say I have this much monies and dump all of it on the counter? DC is doing that with their characters in movies: we have this many characters. Who wants to buy what?
My Confession Part II: following the Joker trailer in terms of disposable nerd properties I’m more excited to see Brightburn and willing to check out Pokémon: Detective Pikachu than Joker.
That’s…that’s a weird place to be in emotionally.
I’d like to get my jacket and leave this place.
