March Madness!

#DownWithPants…
As for today’s cover image: I’m taking the subway today for like the second time? Maybe third time? since March 2020. (The TTC in Toronto. I took the subway a couple of times in Montreal last Summer.) It’s so weird to be back.
(Though I won’t be playing that COVID game…I dunno why white people enjoy getting upset over who is not wearing a mask. Why delight in powerlessness? So silly. Everyone makes a choice and it’s not my place nor do I have any power to suggest otherwise. If I did the jerkfaces who play music through their phones without headphones would be gone!)
Chris Rock Tickets Don’t Take A Hit
You’re the reason there is so much misinformation and clickbait.
You’re the problem.
Tabloids like National Enquirer made millions, TMZ has lots of traffic…you’re the problem. When you choose gossip over goodness you faciltiate the growth of a gross market. Some of this (“Chris Rock Comedy Tour Sees Surge in Ticket Sales“) is support for Chris Rock and that’s fantastic. But some of this is eager fools who want to be the first to hear what Rock has to say about Will Smith. That’s so dumb; so they’re so dumb.
Thankfully Chris Rock’s tour bans cellphones. What a wonderful relief. You don’t need your phone for ANY comedy show. At. All.
Cellphone free was so good when I saw Dave Chappelle earlier this year. More concerts and comedy events should go mobile device free. Please and thank you.
NBA: Rookie Of The Year Edge
While Cade Cunningham was stellar vs the Nets; the Pistons lost that game. Slight ding putting Cade in third.
Currently NBA Rookie of the Year edge belongs to Evan Mobley over Scottie Barnes.
Mobley’s absence has highlighted his value to the Cavs; they need him.
While Raptors can still win without Scottie; though he’s been great for em. #BallorFall
Right back at it tomorrow in Atlanta.

Red Flags & NBA Playoffs
Pandemics come and go; NBA Playoffs are forever. “New ESPN story: Asked in the past 24 hours if their teams are fully vaccinated, the Heat and Bucks said they were. The Celtics and 76ers declined to do so – meaning they could be missing players for road games in a possible first round series with Toronto.”
What are we doing here? I never understood why Kyrie Irving was singled out when the NBA is not 100% vaccinated.
It’s a major red flag when somebody focuses solely on Nike charging em with child labour. This is a major fashion industry issue not just limited to Nike. If your only example is Nike then you have an issue with Nike; you’re not standing up for child labourers or making fashion industry better. Nike is red flag; so is solely focusing on Kyrie Irving as an unvaccinated avatar.
#NewBookAlert: The Last Folk Hero (Bo Jackson!!!)
Bo Knows…I cannot wait to read to read this Bo Jackson biography.
Jeff Pearlman wrote HBO Max’s Winning Time (well the 2014 Lakers book adapted for the limited series is actually called Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s. His 2020 Lakers book Three-Ring Circus: Kobe, Shaq, Phil, and the Crazy Years of the Lakers Dynasty is outstanding! Excellent sarcastic journalism.)
So to have him writing up a Bo Jackson biography is freshtastic. October 4, 2022. Also? How come we don’t have 2 sport players anymore? What a dynamic era we lived through.
We have a cover. Coming Oct. 4. Available for pre-order now https://t.co/nRZz0QC7gI pic.twitter.com/ns4rMypHRZ

#SetTheVCR: Brené Brown: Atlas Of The Heart
Good News for white people who’ve said the phrase “hot dog water” out loud in the last week or so.
Brené Brown: Atlas Of The Heart is on Crave & HBO Max: The researcher and six-time #1 New York Times bestselling author Dr. Brené Brown takes viewers on an interactive journey through the range of emotions and experiences that define what it means to be human.
You can spend 5 episodes with female Tony Robbins and change your life.
Just Do It!
You Can Do It! etc.
#SetTheVCR…PSA: Diamond Hands: The Legend of WallStreetBets
MSNBC Films has been quietly good at this types of financial docs. They need to better brand em like ESPN Films and 30 for 30s. (CNN Films are also excellent but suck at branding. Hopefully CNN+ addresses that issue.)
Plus we just witnessed this with the nonsensical #DisneyDoBetter debacle: there’s a deep abundance of financial ignorance and how business works. (Like in the real world. Not some fantasy world where publicly traded corporations are issuing values.)
There’s no value in Disney doing better if we don’t do the same.
