Morning Tea: Girlfriend In A Venom

Posted on April 1, 2022April 23, 2022 By Sammy Younan No Comments on Morning Tea: Girlfriend In A Venom

April Fools Jokes!

Hot Zones!

Let There Be Carnage! Brew a strong tea: yo!

The First Yo of The Day.

It’s Friday!!

“The freaks come out at night
Now when freaks get dressed to go out at night
They like to wear leather jackets, chains and spikes…
Freaks are all over me like white on rice
Freaks come in all shapes, sizes and colors…”

~ Whodini

Have an excellent weekend…freaks!

Girlfriend In A Coma…

As for today’s cover image: Douglas Coupland’s Binge: 60 Stories to Make Your Brain Feel Different came out October 5, 2021. Still haven’t gotten around to it.

Your life is defined by the books you haven’t read as much as the ones you have read.

Coupland’s been busy following the release of his novel…his photography show at West Vancouver Art Museum is on now.

“Douglas Coupland’s ‘Grad Nights 5:30 A.M.’ is one of the renowned artist’s works on display at the West Vancouver Art Museum’s Rabbit Lane exhibit from March 30-May 28, 2022. Coupland created the 2021 piece with giclée on Dibond aluminum composite material.”

Moon Knight Gets Bombed

Oh No!! Moon Knight is getting reviewed bombed…not what will I think?!

It’s 2022: learn to think for yo’self…all online reviews don’t matter. Yes I said all. It’s so pointless when fans post Certified Fresh as a “See!! I Told You So!” (ahem: The Batman…)

If you want to watch Moon Knight fire it up for yo’self and decide what you want think of it. #BeFree

NBA: A Wrong Three

Giannis should not be shooting 3s.

It doesn’t matter if the game has evolved.
It doesn’t matter if the Bucks “should get with times.”
It doesn’t matter if he can do it.
It doesn’t matter if it puts pressure on the Defense.
It doesn’t matter if he makes them and they win the game

Giannis should not be shooting 3s. #BallorFall

#SetTheVCR…#PSA: There Will Be Carnage on Prime Video

Canadians can watch Venom: Let There Be Carnage on Prime Video on April 22nd.

Oh! I’ll dedicate a solid 15 minutes to this Crap Carnival. That’s an ambitious ask to sit through the whole thing. The 2 Venoms and Morbius are just awful. And while it’s too early for Morbius‘ box office Venoms keeps making cash.

Let There Be Carnage opened during a Pandemic and it still made more than the first Venom’s opening weekend. So we’re stuck with em…they are gonna make more of em.

As for Morbius yeah it’s not a surprise it sucks a lot…I mean it’s a movie about a vampire right? I never liked the comic book character; at least Venom has some decent comics to his name. Mo was always a hard sell.

Nailed that. Get a look at just a few bloopers from #Venom: Let There Be Carnage on Digital now and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Tuesday. https://t.co/jXcCnOtP34 pic.twitter.com/Uzgg0fYpvy

ESPN Generations vs SNL Generations

Numbers aren’t always accurate still: “At $10 million Wojnarowski’s and Schefter’s salaries will fall between Stephen A. Smith’s at $12 million & Mike Greenberg’s at $6.5 million.”

That’s the face of ESPN moving forward. Granted this ain’t their Sandler-Farley-Spade-Schneider generation.

April Fools Jokes!

Since it’s April Fools Jokes Day I watched Ali Wong’s “new” Netflix special: Don Wong.

Some funny bits but her previous specials were stronger; this is subversive without substance.

Chris Rock is comedically stronger at the “for smart people we do dumb stuff!” gig.

#SetTheVCR: The Hot Zone: Season 1

Welcome Nat Geo’s The Hot Zone to Disney+ Canada. In 1989, Ebola landed on U.S. soil. This is that story told over 6 episodes. Season 2 was just broadcast on November 28-30, 2021 and it deals with the 2001 Anthrax attacks. No word yet when that’ll be added to the streamer.

I’d prefer documentaries over fictional storytelling because with a doc you’re forced to be honest. Still with a disease and death it can be hard to make a proper doc; so I’ll “except” this. I hope despite the current pandemic studios keep making pandemic thrillers. They’re like fun horror movies soon as that one character coughs: “oh you’re next!” Smell Ya Later.

#SetTheVCR…PSA: Books of Blood

Brannon Braga’s (The #GOAT on Star Trek: Voyager) Books of Blood is on Disney+ Canada. This aired back on October 7 on Hulu, we got it today. Adapted from Clive Barker’s horror anthology book series. I’m pretty sure I read the books back in the day but I remember little else. Maybe they were decent?
