Michael Stipe has released his Drive to the Ocean his second solo single. I struggled with Your Capricious Soul his recent single from a few months back…I think October? This new track is freshtastic…that voice at the end: this jam needs to be in a movie!!
Proceeds from sales of Drive to the Ocean benefit Pathway to Paris, which advocates for cities to sign on to the Paris Agreement, for one year. Hence birthday gifts plural: there’s the video, the audio and on his site other bonus items. So Stipe is still at it…in more ways than one. And it’s 2020 hard to believe as Pitchfork often reports: “R.E.M. disbanded in the fall of 2011, following the release of their final album Collapse Into Now in March that year.” Sigh. Those were good times.
