An Inside Man says this week’s #SetTheVCR is for Titans who like to Manifest their Weird. It’s hard to explain so you gotta see it to believe it.

Star Trek Generations, 1994 (Director’s Cut) (Anytime / HBO Max)
With the help of long presumed dead Captain Kirk, Captain Picard must stop a deranged scientist willing to murder on a planetary scale in order to enter a space matrix.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: ¡THREE AMIGOS! (ANYTIME / HBO MAX)
Three actors accept an invitation to a Mexican village to perform their onscreen bandit fighter roles, unaware that it is the real thing.
~~~
Oh Yes!! ¡Three Amigos! is on HBO Max today! This was Tropic Thunder in 1986: Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), Lucky Day (Steve Martin), and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short), are three silent movie cowboy stars who get the axe from their Hollywood studio. But instead of a singing cowboy routine they must confront the nasty El Guapo who is running roughshod over the good citizens of a nearby town. Martin Short was close but thankfully didn’t go full retard in this super funny movie. He’s super charming. Kirk Lazarus would approve!
It’s Game 5 of the MLB World Series, Astros vs Phillies. Could this game be the decider? As of publication, the series is tied 1-1, so the next two games will let us know.
SAMMY SUGGESTION: DOCUMENTARY NOW! SEASON 53 (ANYTIME / AMC+)
The current season of the comedy was co-created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers and Rhys Thomas, executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video, will include six all-new documentary-inspired episodes.
~~~
If you don’t know: Documentary Now! is a comedy series that pays sarcastic homage to the world’s best-known documentaries. Each episode adopts a different style of non-fiction filmmaking to honor the most important stories that didn’t actually happen. Season 53 debuted with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, October 19 at 10 p.m. on IFC and a three-episode premiere on AMC+ the same day. Today’s episode is My Monkey Grifter a send-up of My Octopus Teacher. The episode follows Benjamin Clay, a filmmaker who forms a deep, emotional, and financially taxing relationship with a monkey. The episode was written by series co-creator Seth Meyers, with Fred Armisen joining as Detective Blakely. Gold! Programming Note: You can see this episode on November 9 when it is broadcast on IFC.

Blockbuster: Season 1 (Anytime / Netflix)
An ensemble comedy that takes place in the last Blockbuster Video in America, that explores what it takes – and more specifically who it takes – for a small business to succeed against all odds.

SAMMY SUGGESTION: TITANS SEASON 4 (ANYTIME / HBO MAX)
Having saved Gotham, the Titans hit the road to head back to San Francisco. But after a stop in Metropolis, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a supernatural cult with powers unlike anything they’ve faced before.
~~~
Chances are if you actively read comic books you can name the Titans. The 4th season of the too cool for school teenage sidekicks unfolds today and what I’ll do is list the villains this season. That’s the better way to show how big this season is: Mayhem Jinx, Lex Luthor, Deathstroke and Brother Blood. Based on that list…are you back for Season 4?
Enola Holmes 2 (Anytime / Netflix)
Now a detective-for-hire like her infamous brother, Enola Holmes takes on her first official case to find a missing girl, as the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires the help of friends — and Sherlock himself — to unravel.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: MANIFEST: SEASON 4 (ANYTIME / NETFLIX)
When a plane mysteriously lands years after takeoff, the people onboard return to a world that has moved on without them and face strange, new realities.
~~~
In December 2007 The Dead Zone was rudely canceled, ending on a major (unresolved) cliffhanger. This generation’s Dead Zone Manifest is spared that fate: a fourth and final season consisting of twenty episodes, with part one (the first 10 episodes) premieres today. We’ll soon learn the final fate of many Montego Air Flight 828 passengers. Starting with Ben Stone who when this season opens is grieving his murdered wife and searching for his kidnapped daughter, Eden. The mysteries will get deeper and the conspiracies theories will…take off.

After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: WEIRD: THE AL YANKOVIC STORY (ANYTIME / THE ROKU CHANNEL)
An unexaggerated true story that Smells Like Nirvana about the greatest musician of our time.
~~~
“An instant success and sex symbol, “Weird” Al Yankovic lives an excessive lifestyle and pursues an infamous romance that nearly destroys him.” I mean we all know this White & Nerdy success story, right?
Sunday, November 06
My Policeman (Anytime / Prime Video)
The arrival of Patrick into Marion and Tom’s home triggers the exploration of seismic events from 40 years previously.
~~
SAMMY SUGGESTION: CHRIS REDD: WHY AM I LIKE THIS? (ANYTIME / HBO MAX)
In his first HBO Max stand-up special Chris Redd digs into his days of living life like a music video and realizing that even if he’ll never be tall enough to dunk, he can still grow as a person.
~~~
I have no background with Chris Redd; I have no idea what to expect from his first HBO Max comedy special. He was on SNL (didn’t watch) and Kenan (didn’t watch). Based on this trailer? I’m In, though. Okay…show me what ya got Chris…make with the funny.
