Sammy Suggestion: Be Water (9 p.m. / ESPN & TSN)
Volume IV of ESPN’s freshtastic 30 for 30 series continues tonight with Be Water. So now that ESPN has focused on Michel Jordan and Lance Armstrong…who is next? Bruce Lee!! I’m serious. How cool is this? May Be Water do what The Last Dance did: introduce an overlooked and undervalued giant to the youth while giving us oldies a deeper appreciation for our secular culture.

Sammy Suggestion: The Last O.G. (Tomorrow / TBS)
Tomorrow night Tracy Morgan’s sitcom The Last O.G. wraps its third season. I haven’t seen any of the three seasons yet I’m a Tracy Morgan fan. Perhaps today is a good day to start. TV Shows are like comic books: do you read them monthly or do you want for the trade paperback (in this case the entire season)?
Tuesday, June 9
Sammy Suggestion: The CW Happy Hour (9 p.m. / The CW)
The CW Happy Hour is a rotating comedy special showcase so always check your TV Guide for who will be performing that night and don’t forget to tip your waitress. Tonight’s special is Jim Gaffigan: Noble Ape from 2018. Pairs well with a side of Hot Pockets.

Reality Z (Anytime / Netflix) {Rio de Janeiro under a zombie attack!!}
Curon (Anytime / Netflix) {the town is cursed!!}
Sammy Suggestion: New Girl: Season 7 (Anytime / Netflix)
For Americans New Girl officially finished with Season 7 on May 15, 2018. Yet for Canadians who failed to catch the broadcast episodes, they’ve been stuck with Season 6 since April 4, 2017. So for some unknown reason, Season 7 finally shows up today on Canadian Netflix. Fox clearly should contribute to the Schmidt Douche Bag Jar since all these years later the title is clearly no longer apt. The other 6 seasons are on Netflix if you want to watch from start to finish.

Sammy Suggestion: Cult-tastic: Tales From The Trenches With Roger And Julie Corman (Anytime / Shout! Factory TV)
In film, Roger Corman is a shorthand: if you know you know. This Shout! Factory tv series is thirteen 50-minute episodes and features over 130 films, including titles such as Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, The Trip, The Wild Angels, Death Race 2000, Piranha, Bloodfist, Black Scorpion, Little Shop of Horrors, Eat My Dust! and Humanoids from the Deep. You can watch all thirteen on ShoutFactoryTV for free with no signup. Not sure if this will include Corman’s “unreleased” Fantastic Four though. That might be for the best though.
Friday, June 12
Ringside (8:30 p.m. / Showtime)
Da 5 Bloods (Anytime / Netflix)
The Woods (Anytime / Netflix)
Into the Dark: Good Boy (Anytime / Hulu)
Sammy Suggestion: Knives Out (Anytime / Amazon Prime)
Who killed crime novelist Harlan Thrombey? The popular whodunit is filled with a who’s who: Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Noah Segan, Edi Patterson, Riki Lindhome, Jaeden Martell, and Christopher Plummer. Some criminal activity is always a fun way to kick off the weekend.

Sammy Suggestion: Jo Koy: In His Elements (Anytime / Netflix)
Yesterday Jo Koy’s latest comedy special appeared on Netflix. As the title In His Elements suggests the Filipino comic is on the stage as well as in the streets of the Philippines capital for his latest standup special. Fresh. I’m always up for new Jo Koy.
