Morning Tea: Off Beat Kenny G

Posted on November 3, 2021March 6, 2023 By Sammy Younan No Comments on Morning Tea: Off Beat Kenny G

Ernie Johnson!

Alvin and the Chipmunks !

Kenny G! Brew a strong tea: yo!

The First Yo of The Day.

“Haters don’t really hate you. They hate themselves, because you’re a reflection of what they wish to be.” (lol! That quote is utter junk but it’s funny…it sounds like a sit com’s Dad advice for dealing with bullies.)

Off Beat Cinema at 28

As for today’s cover image: Off Beat Cinema is 28 years old! They posted this:

“Bird, Zelda, and Theo thank you — one and all — for 28 yrs of #OffBeatCinema fun! We’ve been aired throughout the country longer than anyone would have imagined. Our commitment to show the movies that must be shown is made strong by all our groovy viewers. Keep watching the sky!”

Way to go on 28 years! I know I’ve benefitted from many of those 28 years lots and lots of wonderful B-movies and so much more.

Los Angeles Outlines Path To Lifting Mask Mandate

The mask needs to be evict from pop culture experiences: ASAP!

If people wanna wear it as a cheezy talisman cool story bro etc. So much for “Trust Science!!” and all that.

But otherwise for the rest of us…especially with glasses this is progress. In LA. Where the rest of y’all at?

Did You Watch The Game Last Night?

The NBC Sports Network will shut down by the end of 2021. “NBC made it official today: NBCSN is shutting down on December 31st, with much of the live sports content moving to USA Network.”

Partly Peacock…that’s where some of the NBCSN coverage will end up.

Which mirrors the NFL on Prime Video.

Live Sports is so not going away…how we watch em is though. Welcome to 2021.

“There’s value in everybody.”

It’s funny how it works huh? You adopt; knowing you can give a kid trapped in awful circumstances a better life but…then the opposite happens.

Michael made Ernie Johnson’s life better: he taught him a lot…how to be patient. Grace.

Death is never an easy time: cling to those wonderful lessons and takeaways. Then find a way to share them; give them away.

"There’s value in everybody."

Back in 2019, Ernie shared a powerful message about his son Michael.

Cash for Chipmunks

Not all IP is valuable. Even if nostalgia tends to be profitable. “Chipmunks Scoop: Alvin and the Chipmunks owner seeks sale for $300 million.”

#SetTheVCR… PSA: A Kenny G Documentary

The “Sentimental” MusicBox HBO documentary on Kenny G drops on December 2nd on HBO Max.

Directed by Penny Lane Listening to Kenny G simply asks: “what makes music good or bad?”

A fun debate that’ll leave you…”Breathless.”

#TrailerAlert: Station Eleven

We give way toooo much credit to #DonaldGlover for being a successful hyphenate. It’s Hiro Murai who makes it work and makes it look so good. He killed it on Barry. (Which is highly recommended!)

Hiro’s directing Station Eleven on HBO Max so I’m 100% IN!

Station Eleven | Decenber 16 | HBO Max 9 p.m.

#SetTheVCR…PSA: Chapelwaite – Season 1

Chapelwaite debuts on Crave tonight with 2 episodes.

This gothic TV show is based on the Stephen King’s Jerusalem’s Lot.

I struggled with the first episode; I’m not sure if it’ll be high school and “it gets better.”

So I may…or may not return to “IT.”

Chapelwaite | November 3 | Crave 9 p.m.
